Запрошуємо на свято традиційного співу – концерт гурту Ukrainian Village Voices, який відбудеться 17 липня о 19.00.
Фольклорний гурт з м. Нью Йорк, що вирізняється своїм культурним різноманіттям. Він єднає українську спільноту з ширшою громадою, долученою до народного співу.
З 2013 року колектив виступає у США та Канаді. Вони брали участь у масштабних культурних фестивалях, таких як Brooklyn Folk Festival, Golden Festival i St. George Festival. Але також UVV співають у музеях, театрах, бібліотеках. Підтримують вони і народну традицію – приносять традиційні різдвяні колядки до домівок.
Та хоча вчителями UVV були українські гурти, наприклад, Древо, Рожаниця та Ладовиці, UVV ніколи не були в Україні. Вперше співаки подорожуватимуть всією країною, щоб досліджувати традиційні народні пісні. Вивчатимуть їх у селах, від справжніх носіїв цієї культурної спадщини.
UVV сподіваються поділитися унікальними піснями та зберегти прекрасну традицію завдяки своїм живими голосам.

Ukrainian Village Voices of New York City is a culturally diverse group of folk singers that unites the Ukrainian community with the larger folk singing community.
Since 2013, UVV has performed for many audiences in the United States and Canada. They have performed at large cultural festivals such as the Brooklyn Folk Festival, Golden Festival, and St. George Festival, and also in local museums, theaters, libraries, and in even people’s homes during Koliada winter caroling.
Though UVV has learned from many traditional singers from Ukraine, including singers of Drevo, Rozhanytsia, and Ladovytsi, the group has never traveled together to Ukraine.
Now for the first time, UVV will be traveling throughout Ukraine to learn traditional folks songs in villages from people that have been singing them for generations.
UVV hopes to share songs, show their gratitude, and help keep this rich singing tradition alive with their voices.
The concert is free with a museum entrance ticket – 30 hrn.
